MORE than 250 tonnes of hay were set on fire in the Boston area overnight between yesterday (Monday) and this morning.
Fire crews from Boston and Kirton were called out to two large-scale stack fires in Frampton and Kirton.
Both of the blazes are believed to have to have been deliberate.
In the first incident, at Spalding Road, Sutterton, 200 one-tonne bales were set on fire. Firefighters, who were called out at about 10.40pm, let the fire burn out under supervision.
Later, at just before 1am, another fire at Coupledyke Lane, Frampton, was reported. Sixty tonnes of hay were discovered to be on fire.
