THE Standard has obtained an exclusive interview with Government health minister Andrew Lansley.
The secretary of state went to Pilgrim Hospital earlier today in a private visit which was closed to press, but this evening our reporters caught up with him as he walked through Boston town centre.
He talked about his visit, describing it as a productive visit and ‘a good day’ and, when asked, he gave his views on the NHS locally.
The Pilgrim Hospital has had a troubled time in recent years, with several damning reports by the Care Quality Commission, but Mr Lansley said he was impressed with what he had seen on his trip.
He told The Standard: “It’s important to turn things around Mark’s job and my job is to support the NHS and to improve it.”
