The team looking into high mortality rates at Lincolnshire hospitals are touring Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital today after a ‘listening event’ last night.

An NHS review was ordered in to United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (ULHT) by Professor Sir Bruce Keogh in the wake of the Stafford hospital scandal.

As part of the review a ‘listening event’ was held in the White Hart last night where patients were able to speak about the good and bad experiences they have had of care at the Pilgrim and in Lincolnshire as a whole.

A ULHT spokesman said there were more than 40 people at the event – about the same as attended a similar event in Lincoln the night before.

The spokesman said: “I think everyone who attended felt it was a really worthwhile exercise and were grateful for being part of the process. It was a very good atmosphere.”

The comments, along with those of staff, will go towards a final report next month.

Anyone who was not able to attend last night and wants to take part in the review should visit the NHS Choices website, email brucekeogh.review@nhs.net or write to Bruce Keogh Review, c/o NHS England, 1st Floor Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds LS2 7UE.
