Three of the six wards shut at Pilgrim Hospital following an outbreak of the norovirus have now re-opened.
The wards still closed are 8A, 6B and 7B - but hospital bosses are confident a fourth will re-open for admissions later today.
Staff at the Sibsey Road site have been closely monitoring the situation since the outbreak two weeks ago - with wards being deep-cleaned.
The advice for anyone wanting to visit friends or relatives is to ring the ward beforehand so they can advise whether it is ‘appropriate or not’.
They said this was in order to continue to protect patients, visitors and staff.
