TV presenter Dan Snow paid a visit to RAF Coningsby to mark 70 years since the formation of the RAF’s elite Dambusters squadron.
The historian unveiled tail art on an RAF Tornado GR4, which he then flew in with the squadron.
He said: “I’m delighted to be here today on such a significant occasion.
“617 squadron was formed to deliver precision attacks on key locations during World War Two. The squadron today has exactly the same role.”
