THE Jamaican flag will be flying from the roof of the Assembly Rooms to mark the 50th year of the country’s independence.

The green, yellow and black flag will be hoisted up the pole on Monday, August 6 – the official date of independence – and will fly throughout the day.

Representatives from the Jamaican High Commission requested that the flag be flown on that date and provided it for the authority.
