A charity concert held by Harworth Brass Band has raised £900 for Langold Dyscarr community school, which was damaged in a fire last November.

The brass band, which has 25 members aged from 10 to 85, performed a variety of music at Langold Village Hall on Saturday, February 20.

The £900 raised will go towards an entertainment event for the school’s pupils, who missed out on their Christmas party when the school was damaged in a blaze last year.

Organiser, Lesley Kerr, whose daughter Lucinda, 17, used to attend the school and plays in the brass band, said: “When we heard about the fire it was a big shock, I was gutted.

“We got together and decided that we wanted to give something back.”
