The last moments of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Wednesday afternoon were caught on CCTV.
The man who lost his life in the accident at Langrick has been named locally as David Cook, 54, from Stickney.
Mr Cook died following a collision with a grey Audi A3 on the B1192 Main Road.
His motorcycle was travelling in the Coningsby direction and had passed by Bob Wilding Auto Specialists moments before the impact.
Mr Wilding says his CCTV system captured images of the motorcyclist riding by – but not the crash – and he’s handing the tape to police who are investigating.
At the time of the motorcycle accident, Mr Wilding said traffic travelling towards Boston was backing up and he believes that was because of the earlier accident on John Adams Way.
He was unaware at first of the motorcycle accident because he was welding in the garage.
“I didn’t actually walk out onto the pavement to see what was going on until five to 10 minutes afterwards,” he said. “Someone put their nose through the door to say ‘is it all right to turn around on your premises?’.”
Mr Wilding said a woman at the scene directed traffic until police arrived.
He said the ambucopter came and was on the scene for some time.
“It was here quite a time and I just assumed it wasn’t good news,” he said.
• Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police are asked to call the non-emergency number on 101 or the collision witness hotline on 01522 558855. Witnesses are asked to quote incident 294 of June 17.
