We’re looking to put a smile on the faces of children in need and give a boost to hard-up families this Christmas with the Give A Gift Appeal.

The Standard has teamed up with Thomas Campbell Estate Agents on Fish Hill to support its campaign to spread some festive joy.

Under the appeal we are asking for people to donate new or quality second-hand toys – however big or small – to be given to boys and girls aged up to 12.

We are also asking for parents who may be struggling to treat their children for Christmas – or who know someone who needs help – to get in touch with requests for gifts.

Director Harry Drury said: “I have been fortunate that my family has always been in a position to spoil me at all times of the year, which unknowingly I always took for granted.

“Now, being a father, I realise what a precious privilege it is to watch your children open a Christmas present on Christmas Day, but I also recognise the cost involved in doing so.

“Some people in Boston cannot afford such a privilege which is why I urge people to come forward and both donate a gift or ask for the support of this campaign.”

If you or someone you know could benefit from the help of the appeal then send us a letter outlining your name, name and age of the child and contact details, including email and home addresses and daytime telephone number.

Send letters to Give a Gift Appeal, Boston Standard, 5-6 Church Lane, Boston, PE21 6ND. Requests must reach us by noon on December 18.

Donated presents can be dropped off to our office at the above address or at Thomas Campbell in Fish Hill, within the Assembly Rooms.
