Major chains plan move into town

TWO major chains are set to provide new food and shopping experiences for Boston when they move into town later this year.

A spokesman for Domino’s Pizza has confirmed it has ‘identified Boston as having great potential for pizza’ and has been granted approval for a new store.

It aims to open in Skirbeck Road later this year and has said it will generate around 25-35 new jobs for local people.

The spokesman said Domino’s takes its role as a responsible neighbour very seriously and works very hard to play an active role in the community by supporting numerous local charities, groups and events.

Morrisons has also confirmed it will be moving into Boston Shopping Park, off Horncastle Road, after agreeing to buy 16 former Netto UK stores at a cost of £28.1 million.

A spokesman said they were able to do this after Asda was asked to disperse some of the stock after taking over Netto UK.

The conversion started on a phased basis last month and it is hoped all 16 will be completed by June.

The company said it could not comment on the number of jobs that might be created.
