Man pulled from the River Witham


A Boston man has been rescued from the River Witham under the Sluice Bridge.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue sent two Swift Water Rescue boats to the scene after the 32-year-old man had purposely entered the water and was seen swimming about and sitting under the bridge.

The incident took place at about 8pm on Friday and was also attended by police and ambulance.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said the ‘distressed’ man was taken to Pilgrim Hospital.
