MAY Fair has rolled into town...and on a gloriously sunny Monday morning was declared officially open.
The Mayor of Boston Coun Peter Jordan and the Rev Canon Robin Whitehead were on hand to perform the grand ceremonial opening at the foot of the gallopers outside the Assembly Rooms.
Mr Jordan then proceeded to take a ride on the horses and dodgems.
The annual attraction will be here until Saturday – opening from 11am-10.30pm each day, except for the final day when revellers can enjoy the thrills until 11pm.
The event, which has a Royal Charter, dates back to the 12th century.
The usual market will move to the Kwik Save car park for the week the fair is in town.
