VOLUNTEERS in Boston are wanted for a sponsored night-time walk in aid of charity.
The annual St Barnabas Hospice Moonlight Walk, a ladies only event, will take place on Saturday, May 14, at 10.30pm.
The aim is to raise money for the charity which provides free palliative care to east Lincolnshire through inpatient care, day hospice, hospice at home, night care and family and carers support services.
Fundraising event manager Chris Fox said: “St Barnabas Hospice has been working in the Boston area for almost 20 years, providing a high level of support for people who have life threatening diseases, who are near to the end of their life.
“Chances are that you know someone who has received help and support from St Barnabas.
“Our Moonlight Walk gives the people of Lincolnshire the chance to give something back to the charity that works for them.”
The six-mile route follows flat well-lit pavements and pre-walk entertainment will be provided by Stars in their Eyes’ Dave Springfield.
The walk will be finished by 12.30am and will end with refreshments and a medal.
The event is open to anyone over the age of 13 years.
Registration costs £10 and walkers will receive a map, sponsorship form and a Moonlight Walk T-shirt.
There will be competitions for the wackiest team and fancy dress with prizes for the best individual and best team.
Men can also volunteer but only to marshall the event.
