PETER Mitcham, of Butterwick, has died at Pilgrim Hospital following a stroke and short illness.
He was 82.
Born in Boston, he lived in the area for his entire life.
A married man, he leaves behind wife Elsie and daughter Louise.
Mr Mitcham worked for the electricity board for more than 40 years, particularly on overhead lines and restoring electricity supplies. He later worked as a storeman.
He was a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and followed Boston United for many years. He started going to see the club with his dad as a boy.
He also enjoyed playing pool, snooker and darts and loved gardening. He was a keen painter and made drawings.
His funeral took place at Butterwick Church and was followed by cremation.
The service was officiated by David Kendrew.
