GERTRUDE May Marshall (Kath) has died at Pilgrim Hospital suffering from kidney failure, at the age of 79.

She lived at Sussex Avenue, Boston, and had lived in the area all her life, having been born in Fosdyke.

Mrs Marshall, who was widowed, leaves behind daughters Gwen, Beverley and Lesley Marshall, sons Gerald (Kevin) and Roderick Marshall and grandchildren Vincent Marshall and Sarah West.

During her younger life, Mrs Marshall spent time bringing up her family and working on the farm. She then worked at Tinsleys. After moving to Boston, she worked as a cleaner at Fogartys and then at WH Smith. Away from work, she enjoyed bingo, watching TV gameshows, especially Deal or No Deal, and spending time at the Age Concern Community Group.

Following their retirement, she and husband Colin enjoyed holidaying, once spending three months in New Zealand. Her funeral took place at St Thomas’ Church, and was followed by interment. Canon Robin Whitehead led the service.

Chief family mourners were: Doris Davy (sister), Trevor Davy (nephew), Tom and Margaret Blissett (brother and sister-in-law), Freda Frisby and Eileen Marshall (sisters-in-law), Sue Bierley, Alison Househam and Joan Upton (nieces), Christine and Alan Thomas (niece and husband), Stanley Budyk (nephew) and Rosy, Gray, Abbi and Elle Williamson (niece and family.)
