JOAN Elizabeth Lee, of White Gables Nursing Home, Kirton has died peacefully at home following a long illness.
She was 82.
She was born in Horsington, Tattershall.
A widow, she leaves behind daughters Val and Wendy and grandchildren Lisa and Keara.
After leaving Heckington School, Mrs Lee worked in a post office and general stores until she got married. After that she worked on the land and eventually finished her working life as a line operative in a factory.
Away from work, she loved baking, gardening, playing card games and bingo and spending quality time with her family. She also took great pleasure from going on bus outings. She enjoyed listening to music and developed a passion for singing.
Mrs Lee’s funeral took place at Wyberton Church and was followed by cremation.
The service was officiated by the Rev Charles Sowden.
Chief family mourners were: Val and Trevor Lyon and Wendy and Chris Hill (daughters and sons-in-law), Lisa Lyon and Keara Hill (grandchildren), June and Ray Harrison (sister-in-law and brother-in-law), Fred Kent (brother-in-law), Arthur and Audrey Appleyard, Maurice and Linda Appleyard, Ann and Dick Capps, Alan and Jill Lee and Maureen and Cliff Leverton (nephews and nieces), Janet and Malcolm Tuplin, Georgina Cook, Muriel and Dave Melton, Brian Reynolds, Margaret Worrell and Margaret Vickers (cousins).
