KATE Bell (Kitty) has died at Pilgrim Hospital at the age of 91.
She was a well-known figure in the area, having run the Green Dragon Pub in Swineshead Market Place with late husband Wilbert for 34 years.
After the pair retired she became a keen gardener and frequently won the flower of the month at the Women’s Institute, where she was a member.
Throughout her life she was very interested in darts, bowls and cooking. Her funeral was conducted by the Rev Jenny Dumat.
Chief mourners were: Brian (son) John and Phyllis Gilbert (brother and wife), Jennifer Gilbert, Shirley Pope, Patricia and Gordon Brown, Mary Frost, John and Sylvia May, Geoff and Gill Gilbert, Malcolm and Hilda Bell, Katherine and Roger Beck (nephews and neices).
