Murdoch Troon to leave town centre store

Another local business is set to leave Boston town centre – but it will be staying in the area.

Kitchen and homeware store Murdoch Troon has announced it is to move away its the store on Emery Lane and move to Johnsons Garden Centre, where staff believe they will enjoy better trading conditions.

Elaine Preston, who owns the store, told The Standard: “Boston has changed a little and Emery Lane has become quite a dead area since Yates and Greenhough closed. It’s made quite a difference.

“We have customers that come from London and all over and they are struggling to park and find the shop.

“It’s a good move.”

She added that it would be easier for the business in terms of receiving deliveries, which has caused problems at the current store.

Elaine said the business would be opening at Johnsons, on Wainfleet Road, on Saturday, November 24. It is not yet confirmed when the town centre store, which has been home to the company for nine years, will close, but she suggested it could be after Christmas.
