Volunteers who help young families in South Holland have officially relaunched as a countywide charity.
Home-Start Lincolnshire held its relaunch event on Tuesday just a week before an information day for potential volunteers across South Holland and Boston next week.
The event at the Boston Borough Council offices in West Street on Thursday, October 13, from 9.30am until 2.30pm, follows the merger of eight Home-Start groups across the county, including what was Home-Start South Holland.
Judi Kay, Home-Start Lincolnshire’s area manager for South Holland, said: “We are still supporting many families in this area and it’s fantastic to have so much interest in our work from within the county and beyond.
“MEPs, mayors, health professionals, teachers, fellow practitioners and supporters all helped to make the official launch event on Tuesday a super day and there was a great buzz in the room we were in.”
Home-Start Lincolnshire supports families with at least one child of 11 years of age or under who have referred themselves for support or have been referred by another.

Chief Executive Tracey Ruddock said: “Home-Start throughout Lincolnshire has an excellent track record in improving people’s lives.
“This merger has already proved great news for the people of Lincolnshire as our new single charity has generated significant financial savings by working more efficiently and reducing duplication of tasks.
“At the same time, we are supporting even more local families and children in need of help.
“Our staff and volunteers are now making an even bigger difference to people’s lives throughout the county.”
