New dentist or vets could be on the way after plans are passed

Plans for a new shop, flats and possible dentist or vets in Swineshead have been given the green light by Boston Borough Council.

The two new buildings will be put up on land to the east of The Pig and Whistle in the Market Place.

The plans, which have been submitted by Graham Perkins, are for a ground floor shop with first-floor flat in one building and ground-floor ‘non-residential institution’ in the other with first-floor flat and staff storage area.

The documents reveal that the second building could house a dentists or veterinary surgery.

A document accompanying the plans states: “It is felt that this application offers a great opportunity to utilise an area of under developed land, providing low-cost housing to local residents and integrating much-needed facilities within the village to residents of the local area, which benefits from a public transport link.”
