AN AWARD-winning actress and singer-songwriter and two fellow performers will be appearing at Blackfriars Theatre as part of their spring tour tomorrow (Thursday).
The Blondes on Fire tour, featuring Hazel O’Connor and the Bluja Project, saxophonist Clare Hirst and pianist/vocalist Sarah Fisher, will be at the Spain Lane venue from 7.30pm.
Presented by Music Live From Leicester Square, they will be performing an eclectic mix of brand new O’Connor originals and timeless classics and promise to ‘deliver a blend of voices and a sweet touch of class to their vibrant performance’.
Hazel strode into the spotlight with cult movie Breaking Glass, immediately becoming an iconic figure.
Her performance as Kate won her the Variety Club of Great Britain Award for Best Film Actor and BAFTA nominations for Best Newcomer and Best Film Score.
She will be performing her popular songs from the film including Eighth Day, Will You and Big Brother.
Saxophonist Clare Hirst has performed with Bellestars, Communards and David Bowie while pianist and vocalist Sarah Fisher has performed with the Eurythmics and Sax in the City.
The Bluja Project have toured in England and performed in France and Ireland.
Hazel O'Connor, boasting sumptuous, soulful vocals is no stranger to the live scene, from her early tours in the ‘80s to her more recently critically-acclaimed partnership with harpist Cormac De Barra.
She has also performed her autobiographical theatre show Beyond Breaking Glass and her 30th anniversary year Breaking Glass Live tour.
She has also released a charity single called Re-Joyce.

This stunning line up of talent recently launched their debut album, and completed a series of sell-out shows in France and the UK last year.
They are currently working on their new album.
