PICTURE GALLERY: Bicker festival holds its 30th annual show

It was full steam ahead for Bicker’s annual steam and threshing festival in its 30th year in action at the weekend.

The event, on Gauntlet Road, took place over Saturday and Sunday, and despite some wet weather on the first day went ‘very well’ according to organisers.

One organiser Sandra Dawson said: “We had a beautiful day on Sunday and a lot of people. It was very enjoyable.

“Everything went on, we had threshing, wood sawing stone crushing and more.

“We also had a full arena of classic cars.”

As well as those attractions there was also vintage tractors, model boats, miniature railway, refreshments, bar, pets corner, craft stalls and trade stands

Proceeds from the annual show go to St Withun’s Chuch in Bicker.

In it’s 30-year lifetime, the show has raised more than £100,000 for the church resulting in a new roof, windows, a new chancel roof and a heating system.
