Police complaints fall over 12 months - report
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has released its latest report into complaints against the force.
The IPCC claims the overall picture is inconsistent in the way forces handle complaints.

Hide AdIn Lincolnshire, there were 549 complaints compared to 567 in 2014/2015.
Allegations into officers’ conduct fell, with 912 complaints recorded in the last year, compared with 1,060 in 2014/2015.
Figures show that the number of people dissatisfied with how their complaints were handled decreased by 15 per cent to 78.
The report also investigated how forces handle complaints. In Lincolnshire, 51 per cent of cases were investigated formally, while 36 per cent were dealt with through the local resolution process.

Hide AdOverall, forces upheld 19 per cent of appeals against their own investigations. When referred to the IPCC, 41 per cent were upheld.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “It is essential that we promote a clear ethos of an organisation that is very willing to accept that it makes mistakes and can learn from them.”
