Following the town’s success in the Britain in Bloom competition where it received a silver award last year organisers are now asking for help.
The team behind the entry into the Britain in Bloom campaign have said they have a ‘multi-pronged’ plan of action and want to hear from anyone with horticultural or garden design expertise or training.
Boston in Bloom steering group chairman and BID manager Niall Armstrong said: “Those towns and cities which do well in Britain in Bloom have reaped the benefit in terms of attracting additional shoppers and visitors, so there is a direct financial benefit to shops and businesses which become involved.
“There is also evidence to show local people take a greater pride in their areas when the In-Bloom campaign is effective.”
The 2013 judging route will focus more on the town centre and businesses are asked to consider joining the Boston BID hanging basket scheme.
