Complaints have been made about members of the public ‘decorating’ trees in a Boston road - with bags of dog poo.
Boston Borough Council has issued a multi-lingual message to ask Robin Hoods Walk residents ‘please don’t decorate the dog poo tree’.
Letters and leaflets are being hand-delivered to properties in the area. Complaints relate to people not picking up after their dog, and issues with those who had correctly bagged the dog mess then tying them to trees or dropping them in drains.
Coun Michael Brookes said: “Failing to clear up after your dog is not just an offence, it is bad-mannered, unhygienic, and poses a serious health risk, especially to children.”
Those caught not clearing up after their dogs can face a £50 fine.
