Neil and Christine Hamilton have arrived at the Boston and Skegness election count to support UKIP candidate Robin Hunter-Clarke.
The pair said they had arrived in town earlier today and spent some time with the candidate - and Christine told The Standard they had known Robin for several years.
She said Robin, despite knowing they could be busy, had invited them along and said they had agreed to go.
She said: “Robin is a wonderful person, whatever happens tonight he has a great future ahead of him.
“We’re here because we’re massive friends with Robin and we believe in him as a wonderful young man.”
Deputy chairman of UKIP Neil Hamilton said he thought UKIP was going to do ‘spectacularly’ in the elections.
He said Robin was ‘spectacularly good’, adding: “He’s got all the cards stacked in his favour”
