A marina with waterfront cafés, shops, housing and green spaces for leisure activities forms part of the early proposals for the Quadrant’s ‘Q2’ development.
Chestnut Homes describes this second phase as an ‘impressive mixed-use development’ on a proposed 200-acre green fields site off Chain Bridge Road.
This is a huge development for the town which has already seen planning permission recently granted for other large housing and leisure facilities.
In May this year, Boston Borough Council passed plans for the first part of a major new housing development of 152 new homes on land at Broadfield Lane. It is estimated that this development will bring 460 extra people to the town.
Then in September last year, plans for a 50-80 bed hotel at the old Phoenix Poultry site off Swineshead Road were given the go-ahead.
These plans come on the top of a £3 million marina – which is separate from any one that may be built in Q2 – which was passed by council planners in May this year for land off Fenside Road.
Chestnut Homes stressed plans for Q2 are in the very early stages and local input will be needed to develop the ideas further.
