Missed green bin collections will now take place next week, Boston Borough Council has announced.
This week’s wintry weather meant the council’s bin collection service was hit by disruption.
A spokesman for the council said: “We thank people for their understanding in helping us deal with the exceptional weather we have had over the past few days.
“To catch up on those green bins we were unable to get to this week, we will use crews who would normally collect brown bins next week.
“We will recommence scheduled brown bin collections on Tuesday, March 13.
“All brown bins presented in the first two weeks of April will be collected to ensure our 2017/18 customers receive their 20 collections and our 2018/19 customers will receive a further collection in December providing the full 20 collections.”
* Green bins not collected on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 27 and 28, will be done on Monday and Tuesday, March 5 and 6. Householders are asked to present their bin by 5.30am on Monday and leave it out until collected.
* Green bins not collected yesterday (Thursday, March 1) will be done on Wednesday and Thursday, March 7 and 8. Householders should present their bin by 5.30am on Wednesday and leave it out until collected.
* Green bins not collected today (Friday, March 2) will be done on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 8 to 10. These bins should be presented by 5.30am on Thursday and left out until collected.
The spokesman added: “Crews will be exceptionally busy trying to catch up, so if you do not need a green bin collection, please do not present it until your next scheduled collection.
“Please leave any extra bags neatly next to your green bin for your next collection, however, if it is more convenient you can take any excess waste to the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Slippery Gowt in Wyberton.”
Blue bin collections planned for next week will be collected on normal collection day.
