Fire crews from Boston were called out to a bus on fire at Frithville last Wednesday.
The Brylaine bus was on the B1183 when the fire began at about 4.45pm.
Nobody was onboard the single decker at the time.
The fire service said the cause was an electrical fault.
Marrianne Garbutt, from Brylaine, said: “The vehicle is now in stand down pending the outcome of an investigation with the part manufacturer.
“We would like to praise our driver for his conduct and level headedness as he dealt with the incident swiftly, responsibly and professionally ensuring safety.
“There was no risk to passengers or to the public and we would also like to thank the fire brigade for their swift and effective response.”
