Boston and its surrounding villages are filled with heroes... and now it’s time to let them know how much their hard work is appreciated.
Today the Boston Standard is launching its Pride Awards 2015, and we want you to shout about those unsung heroes.
Once again, we have teamed up with L&H Homes to search for community champions, kind-hearted kids, high achievers and everyday inspirations.
Our patch is filled with so many people doing deeds every day without so much as a second thought or a desire to be thanked.
So we feel it’s only right to pause for a moment and show these people that their efforts are truly appreciated.
Whether you know someone who goes above and beyond to help others, or can think of a longstanding member of your community who keeps things ticking over - please put them forward for a nomination.
We have a num ber of categories in which you can nominate, so there’s no excuse not to champion your hero - no matter how young or old they are.
From your nominations, event organisers will put together a shortlist for each category - before asking you, our readers, to vote for the people you believe deserve to be called a Pride of Boston.
Those nominees who make the shortlist will be invited to attend an awards evening at Boston West Golf Centre in June, where all your heroes will be celebrated.
Once votes have been cast an independent panel of judges will choose category winners, with one of those being named as our overall Boston Achiever.
Nominees must live or work within the Boston Standard circulation area.
Nomination forms must be received by noon on May 1, 2015. No photocopies will be accepted.
