PRIDE AWARDS: Boskat Child Achiever’s Award

Here’s the two competitors for the 2012 Boston Standard Sports Awards Boskat Child Achiever category...

*John Field Community Special School

JOHN Fielding Community Special School has been nominated for its participation in the local community.

The school, based on Ashlawn Drive, Boston, takes part in a number of activities which in recent times have included a town carol service, tree planting in the new Jubilee Orchards, an art display at the council buildings and other environmental work.

Head teacher Sue Morrison was also recently awarded by Boston Borough Council for her work instigating projects to improve parts of the town.

The person who nominated the school said the students strive hard to go the extra mile.

*Brian Kemp-Beeby

Brian Kemp-Beeby has been nominated for the way he copes with a rare glandular condition.

He takes numerous tablets and has to inject himself everyday in order to control the hypopituitarism he has suffered since birth.

Brian, also suffers from a growth hormone condition which makes him much smaller than other children his age.

He recently flew out to Florida with almost 200 other children and given the holiday of a lifetime, thanks to the Dreamflight charity after being selected for the trip when put forward by a nurse at Pilgrim Hospital.
