ST BOTOLPH’S Church will receive a royal seal of approval this summer, when HRH the Princess Royal visits the Stump in July.
The church patron will formally open the new community and visitor facilities at the Stump when she comes to the town on July 17.
She will attend a service of dedication led by the Bishop of Lincoln, before unveiling a plaque and viewing the new facilities and the restoration work underway on the north face of the tower.
The Rev Canon Robin Whitehead, Vicar of Boston, said: “We are delighted to welcome our patron to formally open the new facilities.
“We are especially delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness in this, a very special year for the royal family.”
A total of £250,000 has been spent on the new facilities at the Stump, which include toilets, a new shop and café and new office space for staff.
Restoration and repair work on the north face of the church tower is due to be completed in the autumn.
