Two Boston Grammar School pupils have put their school on the map by winning a national science award.
Year 10 pupils Will Balsom and Christian Cherian won the North and North East National Schools Science and Technology award at Sheffield University recently. The boys were tasked with designing and building robots to be used for a specific challenge.
Christian said: “It was a great experience and I learnt a lot about Java programming and the technology behind the robot.
“I am happy to have experienced the great facilities in the Diamond Building at Sheffield University, would love to take part in something like this again and would like to thank the school for giving me this opportunity” They were presented their award by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Talib Hussain (pictured above) and also met Walter, one of Sheffield University’s NAO robots.
