Two charity cyclists from Boston’s Endeavour Radio will be hoping the airwaves push them along their way as they ride from Lincoln to Boston this weekend.
Craig Sansam and Mike Keightley are getting on their bikes to raise as much money as they can for Comic Relief.
The pair will set off from Lincoln Cathedral tomorrow morning at about 10am, and after cycling more than 35 miles, they hope to be at Boston Stump by 1pm – and they are hoping to be greeted by listeners supporting their efforts.
Craig, 22, said he decided to take part in the ride after another volunteer at the station suggested doing something for the national charity, which has its annual Red Nose Day next Friday.
He added: “I’ve wanted to do a long distance cycle for a while so it’s a good idea to combine the two.”
Fellow radio team member Mike, 25, told The Standard: “It’s a good opportunity to push myself and get used to riding long distances, with a view to doing further ones in the future and generally increasing my cycling endurance and fitness.
“It’s great to be part of something to raise money for those who need it, and to get outside doing something I enjoy.”
