Members of Friskney Women’s Institute visited RAF Scampton’s Fire Museum and Heritage Centre recently.
The group was shown round by volunteer guides as well as exhibit owner Steve Shirley.
Members also had the chance to sit in a red Hawk jet, which had in the past been used by the Red Arrows display team.
The day ended with a Red Arrows display after the weather cleared.
Group president Margaret Parker said: “We’d like to think their display was done just for our WI visit but...well...maybe!
“It certainly finished off the day nicely for us.”
The next outing for the WI is a visit to Woodthorpe Garden Centre later this month.
Friskney WI meet on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7.30pm at Friskney Village Hall.
Visitors are welcome to any of their meetings. Entry is £3 per visit, including tea/coffee.
