Veterans, members and supporters of the Armed Forces gathered at the War Memorial on Wide Bargate on Monday to raise the flag in support of the armed forces.
Despite the weather, a number of people turned up to the event.
Mayor of Boston Coun Stephen Woodliffe said: “I thank all those who attended the Armed Services Flag Raising Ceremony at the War Memorial this morning, despite the heavy rain.
“As Mayor, it was both a pleasure and an honour to raise the flag on behalf of all our citizens in recognition of the dedicated service given to the nation by our Armed Forces.”
The council joined others across the county in preperation for Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
The day is about communities showing their support for troops and their families and aims to give them a moral boost.
