Record crowds are expected at Country Fair

Record crowds of 15,000 are expected at the annual Revesby Country Fair on Sunday.

Visitors can expect an action-packed main ring programme, featuring new acts as well as old favourites.

Organisers of the show are thrilled to have added competive relay show jumping to the main arena with teams from local hunts.

Another exciting additionwill be Ben Atkinson and his stunt horses.

John Roe, chairman of the show committee, said: “Ben provided ‘Poldark’s’ horse on the popular BBC series, though sadly Mr Poldark himself won’t be able to make it!”

As well as new entertainment, this year’s diverse programme also welcomes the return of events that have been popular for years.

Most notable is the terrier racing, which has expanded to include heats in the early afternoon, with additional ‘Revesby Style’ terrier racing from 5pm.

The show welcomes in excess of 220 trade stands and promises the ‘widest imaginable range of cuisine’ - from ice creams to crocodile burgers. There are also opportunities to try out some country sports on the day.
