Officers from Boston Borough Council have agreed with county council leader Martin Hill that devolution is an ’exciting opportunity’.
Boston Borough Council’s strategic director of resources Rob Barlow said: “The Government remains open to any further proposals from local areas for devolution of significant powers. The intention is to allow local areas to do what’s best for their community and help remove barriers of economic growth.”
He said the council will discuss with other public sector organisations to consider whether the devolution of powers could result in better outcomes for local people.
He added: “This is an exciting opportunity and one that we will explore to the full with our partner organisations.”
