Retford: Young pupils enjoy festival of languages event at Elizabethan Academy
Pupils from year six spent an afternoon participating in a range of activities related to different countries, such as Greek dancing, visiting a French café, learning Italian and Dutch, German through sport and an art class based upon the work of Vincent Van Gogh.
Elizabethan Academy students guided the way to each country and either led or assisted with each activity.

As well as enjoying a range of activities, pupils were asked to consider the value of learning a language in today’s society.
From September, all primary schools will be expected to offer a language as part of the curriculum.
