A new pub and restaurant on the outskirts of Boston, responsible for the creation of about 40 jobs, has had its official opening.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for The Chain Bridge, off the A52, near Tesco, took place on Saturday morning.

The venue, part of the Marston’s Inns and Taverns chain, had opened the previous Monday.

Joining The Chain Bridge team on the day were representatives from their charity of the year – LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service).

The emergency medical charity was hand-picked by the staff as the main beneficiary to the pub and restaurant’s charity scheme.

Manager Donna Edmunds said: “After working with my team to select a ‘charity of the year’ for the pub, LIVES was the clear choice. They do such an amazing job for the community that it seemed like a great way to acknowledge all their work.”

She added: “It was great to see some of the team on the day and to introduce them to the pub, I hope to see some of their faces here again soon.”
