Winning the Trustee of the Year category was Ronnie Robinson - who has dedicated 25 years’ voluntary service at Boston Samaritans, along with three years at Boston Women’s Aid and other volunteering roles.

Ronnie has taken the lead as chairman of the branch on three occasions.

She stepped down as chairman last year because she believed it was for the good of the organisation to hand over to someone with new ideas.

In the past year she agreed to bring her huge bank of experience to Boston Women’s Aid as a trustee.

In addition, Ronnie has been secretary for Boston Steam Festival for seven years and volunteers at the emergency night shelter at Boston’s Centenary Methodist Church.

Ronnie is described as ‘someone who truly cares about the area she lives in’.

Speaking to The Standard after picking up her award, Ronnie said: “I’m a bit embarrassed as there are so many others nominated who are all so deserving of this award.”
