William Lovell Church of England Academy in Stickney has won an award for its GCSE results.
The school has collected the PiXL (Partners in Excellence) - the largest school improvement organisation in the country - award for ‘outstanding GCSE results in the Central Region’.
Lee Wright, acting principal through the last academic year, was delighted with the award and the opportunities good GCSEs give the academy’s pupils. He put the success down to excellent teaching and a whole-staff effort.
Mr Wright said: “We took a more forward approach to understanding the learning needs of our pupils. It shows what can be done with a whole-staff collective working together for the best education for William Lovell children.
“We hope our pupils will now take advantage of the incredible opportunities good GCSEs can give them.”
Newly-appointed head of school Sonja Craig said: “This achievement has been very well deserved. All staff have worked extremely hard over the last year to ensure our young people have the best opportunities.
“I am incredibly proud to be working with such hard-working and caring professionals, who care so passionately about education.”
