Sensory room opening for disabled

A SENSORY room for people with severe learning disabilities in Boston is preparing for its grand opening.

Thera East Midlands, an organisation which helps adults with learning disabilities, has installed the room at its property on Kingsway, Boston.

Money for the room was raised by local fundraising, in particular by the staff team at Kingsway.

In addition, the organisation was given a £10,000 grant from the Big Lottery’s Awards For All programme and a £1,000 donation from Lincoln-based grant maker JW Wright Trust.

The room includes special lighting fixtures, tactile panels, wall and floor cushioning and a musical water bed.

When the room is up and running, it will also be available for the wider community to use.

It will be unveiled on Thursday, June 30
