SIBSEY Community Park is set to be given a £32,000 makeover...as three new pieces of play equipment will be brought to the village.
The park – based next to the village hall on Frithville Road – wil have new play equipment installed, thanks to a cash boost.
A trailblazer assault course, incorporating ropes, ladders and more fun activities, will be made available for village youngsters to use.
Also set for the park will be a Devil’s Island Swing, which is a large basket seat which can hold several young people at one time.
Completing the new play equipment, will be a Cone Climber roundabout.
This is a roundabout with a circular base but a climbing net attached which allows youngsters to climb as they spin.
The equipment is suitable for youngsters aged three to 12.
The total £32,706 funding will come from several contrubutors.
The highest stake – £15,520 – will be handed over by the Lincolnshire County Council Communities Facilities Grant.
Other cash wil come from East Lindsey District Council (£7,500), Sibsey Parish Council (£3,000) and local fundraising initiatives (£1,962).
A further £4,724 is expected to come from WREN, although this is yet to be confirmed.
The ELDC cash comes from the authority’s Community Grant Scheme.
This will also see £4,390 donated to East Kirkby Village Hall.
The money will go towards resurfacing the hall’s car park.
