Storm Doris sees Boston’s Sluice Bridge level crossing stuck shut

Storm Doris continues to wreak havoc on Boston’s roads this afternoon (Thursday, March 23) with the barriers on a level crossing in the town now said to be stuck in the down position as a result of the high winds.

According to Lincolnshire Police, the barriers at the Sluice Bridge are stuck shut after one of them was blown down and the others followed suit.

The force is reporting heavy congestion as a result, but added the rail authorities have been informed.

Earlier today, The Standard reported on how fallen trees had blocked roads in and around Boston here.
