The storm surge which threatened to cause flooding in Boston has passed without incident, officials have confirmed.

A combination of high tides and stormy weather had led to flood alerts being issued.

However, thankfully, there was to be no repeat of 2013 when a tidal surge wrecked homes and businesses.

An earlier high tide also passed without any breaches of the flood defences.
