The 19-year-old moped rider who died following a collision last week has been named locally as Jess Danby as a 52-year-old man is arrested in connection to it.
The teenager, who is believed to have worked at Caffe Nero, was fatally injured after a moped and an Audi A7 collided at about 7am on Thursday.
She was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital with very serious injuries and then transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Miss Danby was an aspiring actress and according to her social media presence went to Kirton Middlecott School.
People have been taking to social media to pay tribute.
Jason Stevenson posted a blog on his website: “Now she had this thing about her a few people had the ability to make people laugh to always smile and she was truly a colourful character. So to hear the passing of this wonderful young lady taken down before her life even began was tragic.”
Nathan Bryant tweeted: “RIP Jess, gone but never forgotten! Taken far too soon!”
David Lane wrote on The Standard’s Facebook wall: “r.i.p miss you chick see you on the flip side we will act together when I join you up there.”
A 52-year-old man has been arrested by Police in connection to the incident and released on police bail until November 16.
An earlier appeal for a 4x4 driver to come forward was ended after proving successful.
