The British Heart foundation has been boosted by a £4351.83 donation from Thomas Cowley High School.

Each year the Donington school raises funds for the BHF through its sponsored skipping Jump Rope for Heart event.

Keith Woods, chairman of the Spalding and District branch of the British Heart Foundation made his annual visit to the school to collect a cheque.

The 29th annual sponsored skip for the charity was organised by sports teachers Mr Brader and Mr Wright.

Mr Woods said: “I am absolutely delighted with the effort made by the school every year and the amounts raised for the British Heart Foundation never ceases to amaze me.

“This school is one of the main contributors to the British Heart Foundation in the whole of South Lincolnshire”

Since Jump Rope for Heart began in 1985 over £100,000 has been raised by the school for the British Heart Foundation.
