Transport scheme needs more driver due to demand
Gainsborough Community Wheels are a local voluntary car scheme set up by dedicated volunteers to help local people get where they need to be at a very reasonable cost.
However, due to an increasing need they are on the look out for new drivers.

If you have some spare time, be it daily, weekly or monthly and you enjoy meeting and helping people then volunteer driving could be for you.
The scheme pays mileage expenses at 40p per mile and there is no charge for the DBS check they undertake.
The scheme’s current drivers have said how satisfying it is to know their volunteering makes such a difference to a person’s life, to alleviate isolation and loneliness or the worry of getting to their health appointments.

This is to ensure they are aware of the client’s level of mobility and their support needs.
Fares are charged based on mileage, £1 for the first mile and 45p each mile thereafter and co-ordinators will be happy to work out a price with you over the phone.
Gainsborough Community Wheels office is based in Gainsborough House and is manned on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm.
If you live in Gainsborough or surrounding villages and would like to volunteer as a driver or join the scheme call 01427 611441 or email [email protected].
