A car containing a woman, a three-year-old and a baby, went into a dyke off Fodderdyke Bank, near New Leake, on Saturday afternoon.
Police officers confirmed the incident was reported to them at 3.55pm after a silver Peugeot 207 left the road.
The car was reported to have been driven by a 25-year-old woman from Burton on Trent, with a three-year-old and a baby as passengers.
The driver was reported to have sustained minor injuries.

Last week, a 19-year-old man from Skegness suffered minor injuries after coming off the same stretch of road and prior to that, since September 2014, there have been three other incidents including one fatality.
